Settings and Installation
The CNR2900-W (C1) SEC is a Plug and Play card if the AC97 modem option
is enabled in the BIOS; Windows automatically detect it as a CNR Serial
Controller and look for an INF file containing the hardware ID. On power
up the board will be configured optimally and the software drivers will
be added. It also detects in registry the localization of the Regional
Settings to correctly set the DAA. The settings and drivers can be
viewed via the SETTINGS/ CONTROL PANEL /SYSTEM /MODEM / of
Windows.Intervention is limited to the physical hardware and connections
: Plug the card into the CNR slot. If the motherboard has an on board
codec the connection is made through the CNR socket.
Notes:
- This is a Winmodem card, meaning that drivers must be loaded to
emulate the controller and control the DSP data pump: the modem can not
be used in DOS mode (only in DOS box).
- This card is compatible with previous standards (ITU V.34bis);
whenever a V.90or V.92 connection is not possible, the connection will
be established via V.34bis.
- The product software drivers are V.92. System requirements: any
Pentium or equivalent PC with a CNR slot.
Country Configuration
The board has been developped with a software configurable DAA (Data
Direct Access), meaning that no Jumper Block is required for production.
The localization of the modem (DAA and profile) can be easily done
through the Control Panel/ System / Modem properties. 18 European
countries, Australia, New Zealand, Malaysia and South Africa are
supported.
